286 bhp Citroen 2CV!

In this weeks Autocar page 95 in a section titled Road Test revisited, it states the Citroen 2 CV has 286 bhp!

 

Now I can only think Dollywobbler has been writing for Autocar and in an effort to show the 2 CV in a good light has exaggerated the true figure a tad!

Missing a frankly unnecessary decimal point methinks.

The fact that they bother with decimal places must tell you all you need to know.

Interestingly, 286 ps is exactly the figure Mercedes gave for the 450SEL 6.9.

Top speed would still be no more than 110mph no matter what the engine power, at which point the front wheels start losing proper contact with the road. That's if the bonnet hasn't already broken free and raised up like a giant air brake, the door tops haven't been sucked outwards so far that all that anyone with long hair has half of it fluttering on the roof (outside) and the boot will have discharged its contents over the road.

 

You need a Dyane with anything over 100bhp. None of the above problems.
