Shaun of the Dead Jag...is it err, dead?

For reasons I won't go into (if I do, I'll have to kill you etc etc) I'm trying to see if I can track down, or at least find out what happened to the Shaun of the Dead Jaguar XK Series 3. You know, this one.

Doing a little bit of digging online, I found this statement in the comments section on  IMCDb.org...

"the jag is now dead. the story goes like this: a few years ago I went to my friends who does banger racing
and he had a jag silver but resprayed green, i said that it looked to good to race thats when he told me he got it from london
and it was used in a film, he couldn't remember what it was called. he also said it had some of the scripts in the boot
but he had put them on the fire and burnt them along with the interior thinking they wasn't worth anything.
that was before the film was even in the cinema, then i saw the film and realised thats where the jag was used."

Personally, I think that smacks of BS. If you thought you car was used in a film, would you smash it up? If it were left to me I'd put it in ebay for ££££££ famous car innit?

Anyway, does anyone know if that's true or if not, where the car is...10 Mr Bollox Internet Points for anyone with infrmation!

Not taxed since 1st August 2003. If its not been bangered, its probably been left somewhere and is so rotten it many as well have been.

I bunged the details in the divla database too and saw the thing. Even pictures of it as a banger racer would be good...

Many racers would see it's provenance as a prime reason for racing it. There's been far rarer and much more valuable stuff than that raced in the past in the full knowledge of what it was.

Unusual, for a 'film car', that the registration matched.

Well it's making my job a little easier. I was half expecting it to have the number of a Bedford van that was scrapped in 1995 :-P

Sometimes they use the reg and sometimes they use ones held back by the DVLA  like the phone numbers on TV and film

Please, can we just calm the fuck down!

The scripts in the boot bit makes it sound like bullshit.

No film production company would be as stupid as to be so relaxed about what happens to scripts for their big money film before it's relaeased.

Sounds like it may be dead then.....

I was once in the Daily Star as I 'found' some Emmerdale scripts in a bar. What actually happened was that they were delivered to my house in error but the pub gave me a load of free beer to say I found them there.

However they were still posted to our house by the production company by mistake. The person who should have had them had not lived there for years.
