I took the Carlton along to the Museum of Transport in Dundee, here's a few pics...

Spot of the day for me was a Riley RMC roadster that I overtook on the M23. Bloomin' rare car in the UK as it was designed for the US market. I was driving, so no pics. Sorry.

I have seen precious little.  A 1970s Mercedes coupé and a bay window camper van seemed the only ones of deliberate note.  I did spy a very shiny red 1980s Toyota Corolla estate and a white Citroen Xantia hatchback but I suspect they were just 'ordinary' cars and not out doing anything especially.

Have to admit I've seen more special classic and elderly cars out and about on average days of the weeks so I have to wonder if DID has managed to removed classics from the public eye by grouping them all together at various shows and gatherings.  It's like car apartheid**.

What's the engine in that silver moggie?

That red P6 we spotted spotted us too

That'll be the bloke who tried to get a picture of us at the junction when we got lost. Clocked his car in the piazza as we drove out.

If you remember the red car on the NEC resto P6 stand, that was him.

Sunday is a working day here (weekend is friday/saturday) but I did my bit by driving my 18 year old Jeep Grand Cherokee to work - and an 18 year old car is practically an antique here in the UAE!

It's Classic Kettling

I thought that was how you could tell you were in a Rover?

I drove the 205 yesterday, it was quite a laugh. The missus said it smelled like an old car as well as looked like one, and it's incredibly tiny next to anything modern.

And yes, my camera's sensor is on the way out, before anyone complains about the offensive ISO grain.

Fiat twincam was a favourite conversion, as were certain Ford units, I forget which.
