We spent the last week with my parents in law in Germany, we take the car and I keep my camera handy 'just in case' I'm usually the driver and hence rely on egging SWMBO on to capture the spots. Its fair to say shes not really a that keen, but she came up with these en route....

Whilst we were there I went with my brother in law to the Nurburgring, last weekend was a bank holiday weekend in Germany too which basically means the track is full of Germans wanting to get their 28 euros worth, or locals for whom 1500 euros buys a years unlimited access pass. There was a 'drift cup' going on that weekend plus a classic car show too. Hence quite an eclectic mix of visitors. It was refreshing to turn up, park really near the main entrance and not be asked to pay a penny to park. Im looking at you NEC.

We also drove to some of the towns within the circuit boundary. What looks like a bridge or flyover is often a bit of the track cutting through the town. Park up and spectate. Quite a few visitors came in older stuff...

Unsure what either of those last two were!

The drive back saw a 6 wheeled long wheelbase cx and a renault 4 in the Netherlands (we whizzed past too fast to take pics), and this new jalopy waiting for me on the drive at home....

One door with hinges on both sides? Erm.

On the other hand that blue Opel 1900GT makes me want another one right now.

Superb pics.

Some lovely stuff there. I have a thing for those old Alfa Romeo Giulias, and the big Merc convertible would also be very welcome on my drive!!

You used to be able to  buy a one piece fibreglass rear door like that  for  min vans....

That green coupe with no bits on it looks like a Glas 1700GT.    Possibly.

Glas GT. Whether it's a 1300 or 1700 you can't tell from the pic.

The van is a FK 1000 (Ford Köln 1000 KG), or Ford Taunus Transit, as it was called from 1961.
