320touring Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Previous insurance ran out on 27/03/14- didn't renew as they wanted 360 for tpfd Got quotes for 220 fully comp with my 5 years ncb, but have not taken out yet (payday beckons) car is sitting waiting for me to sort brakes. Assume I'll still be ok to use the 5 years when I take a new policy out? Thanks
Conrad D. Conelrad Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Yes. 4 weeks is nothing, NCB is usually valid for two years after the policy ends. Sometimes even longer if the new insurance is with the same company who issued the NCB. 320touring 1
320touring Posted April 8, 2014 Author Posted April 8, 2014 Sounds positive, thanks for that! reckon I'll fix.the320 and get it insured/taxed then get something else interesting lined up..
EssDeeWon Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Youll be fine, and would have to leave it well over a year or maybe two years before worrying about losing any NCB. I have been without cars over the years and never lost my NCB.
gtd2000 Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 I thought there was some sort of EU law in the past few years that said you couldn't lose your NCB anymore after the 2 year period?
Guest Lord Sward Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 I renewed my personal car insurance in December. The last time I didn't run without a Trader's Policy? 16th January 2006. NCB still valid.
320touring Posted April 8, 2014 Author Posted April 8, 2014 Cheers chaps! financial security* here I come!
HillmanImp Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 I renewed my personal car insurance in December. The last time I didn't run without a Trader's Policy? 16th January 2006. NCB still valid. Who with out of interest? I had to ring round the houses to get mine recognised after 2 years. Co-op do 3 but I had to go to a broker to get it recognised otherwise. Would be nice to see if I could go enswhere if it happened again.
