sporty-shite Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 OK. V5 has arrived and 147 is now taxed and in daily duty for Mrs S. I've got the Puma back, so this little beauty* is now surplus to requirements. It's a decent runner and driver, although it does use a bit of water. There's no mayo under the cap and it doesn't overheat. Runs up to temp quickly and has a nice warm heater. It's had a dose of K-seal, but still goes through a bit of water. Also, drivers window mechanism is borked. You can hear motor, but no movement. High miles (165k) but drives well. Few knocks. Half leather with a bit of wear, but nowhere near what you would think for the miles. Tax to end of March, MOT to sometime in May. V5 not arrived yet, but have green slip, and full receipt will be given. £350 ovno, which is less than I paid, but it's done its job, so I can't complain. Located Westhoughton, near Bolton. Can collect from station etc. ProgRocker 1
chaseracer Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Is that part of the gearbox in the footwell...? Wilko220 and Junkman 2
sporty-shite Posted March 8, 2014 Author Posted March 8, 2014 Is that part of the gearbox in the footwell...? Nooo! It's a plastic knob off the from of the seat and possibly a polythene straw holder from a Ribena* carton *Other sugar-rich soft drinks are available.
RedSparrow Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Huh. Another motor I would snap up if I was still in the UK. Someone please buy this! Megabarg.
sporty-shite Posted March 10, 2014 Author Posted March 10, 2014 Well, what a complete mong-magnet this has turned out to be. So, it's like this. Make me a decent offer (>£200) or otherwise, I'll probably take the easy bits off, like wheels, trim, stereo and some panels and weigh the rest. Anyone interested in either option, please shout now.
Bobthebeard Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Any interest in swappage for a 1985 Porsche 944? It has borked sills but otherwise sound and in decent condition. Have already restored one of these and can't be arsed doing this one. Rather than breaking the MG you could repair/break the 944 instead? Plus I could have another MG.Just wondering like......
phil_lihp Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Argh, so tempting but completely broke so no chance and I've thrown too much money into my current Rover project to ditch it now. Hope it finds a new home in one piece! Lovely colour too.
Bobthebeard Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Bob, whereabouts are you?Quite close...Lytham St. Annes

Bobthebeard Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Temptation is strong! I'll pm you later when kids aew in bed.Ok, no probs. I realise I am probably being daft here, but really cant be arsed restoring or breaking the Porsche. The MG would be a better prospect for me really!
