Wirral/Cheshire/Merseyside 2000 square foot unit share

I've found a unit that's 2,000 square foot.

The rent is just over 8,000 per year - with four people sharing it equates to just over £170 per month. I've got plans on decent equipment (crane, tig welder, etc) once I find a place and don't mind them being shared. :)

I need a place to put some of my cars and work on them from time to time without freezing my BAWLS off or having hailstone enter the crack of my arse via the neck of my coat. Also to avoid further destroying my folk's newish (3 years old) driveway, which I have pretty much destroyed anyway.

The unit is about 10 seconds off the M56 (it's literally off one of junction roundabouts things), and is about two minutes from the North Wales border.

I'll get photos this weekend.

Genuine interest only, and if you're interested I want to avoid any kleptomaniacs or weird/awkward/untidy/sociopath people.

I'd only be there two days in the week, and while I'd be happy to collect rent from you, and pay the deposit upfront, I don't want to go chasing excuses for months.

I honestly wish you the best of luck on here with a checklist like that.

SRS questions: How far from the M53 and/or Chester, what's security like if it's anywhere near Chester Services (it's a bit of a mecca for people with more hair on top than the bottom) and is it £170 each per month, or £170 spilt 4 ways?

Each per month if the rent is £8k pa. ~£40 a week not a bad price considering what you'd have to pay for a single leaky asbestos garage in some places. Even better value when you factor in slowly stealing Station's tools over the course of several years.

Several years? Has he got several BFO warehouses full of them?

Yes, 170 each!

I haven't got much at the moment, but you're welcome to 'balance the rent' by offing them at Cash Converters.

It's on occupied farm-land - the units were used to store highway maintenance equipment while they did the m56 extension bypass thingy.

I'm currently paying 50 quid per month for a 5 square centimetre matchbox that leaks and is a hotspot for fly tippers so anywhere is better than being charged so much for so little.

In all seriousness, I've been searching for a decent unit for over a year, this is the best I've seen so far. It'd be nice to find people to share with, but I can't keep moving cars around different locations to avoid them getting lifted for the next ten years (or in fact fixing them on the driveway).

except change 'assembly plant' to 'Station's 2000sqft Unit', 'Cadillac' to 'Draper 2 ton folding engine hoist' and 'getting caught meant getting fired' to 'Station not liking my posts in the eBay tat thread anymore'.

I understand you don't want to give too much away but this occupied farm, has it got a big conifer hedge round the (road) side and is a very short hop from where I work?

I don't think I can justify that amount at the moment, but if you get a bit of a corner free you'd rent out cheaper give me a shout, please.

I did a crappy model displaying 2000 square foot, with several Ford Sierra shaped boxes inside (including space for storage etc on the side wall).

Jibbed this off as the letting bloke is unfortunately completely retarded.

This is an abridged version of the phone conversation - this was massively different from when I wasn't a potential customer, as is the case with all (f*cking) letting agents and unit renters.

"You left a message about a 2000 sq ft garage for rent?"

"Garage? We don't have any garages?"

"OK, workshop unit then"

"Nah, we don't have any 2000 sq ft."

"OK, what size unit do you have?"

"What are you using it for?"

"Just car storage"

"Are you a mechanic?"

"No just storing cars"

"How many cars are you storing?"

"Only about 8"

"Are they classic cars?"

At this mark I thought 'f*ck this' and hung up.

There's some storage very close to A1 scrapyard but it's a fenced off outdoor area so nothing special. I think he wanted £300 a month for it.

Only need another person to go in, which will bring it to 160 per month.

No interior pics, which is always a good sign*.

Bear in mind if anyone was interested, I'd have to deal with the person letting out the premises first (ie actually make contact with him, arrange viewing, working past his god-complex 'letting agent' afflictions, and then having to nearly grovel as he has '20 other people interested').

It also has an office upstairs, which would be really useful* (hoping that isn't part of the 1000 sqft, which it probably is).
