Paint malfunction? by Glasgow_Panoramic, on Flickr

This is the boot spoiler of my Corsa which I painted and lacquered with rattle cans 3 years ago. Only today, I noticed this. I would have thought that this sort of thing would happen fairly quickly if I'd made a mistake when preparing and painting, not after 3 years. I'm not overly bothered as I've never been that happy with the job and I have some spare paint to redo it but I thought that this was a bit strange. All suggestions if a Janet and John nature especially welcome.

It looks like paint chips? I had a proper painter do a grille of mine and it looked like Robbie of Eastenders within a month.

They look like moisture blisters.

It looks like moisture under the lacquer to me, flat it back with some 800 grit wet and dry and start again.

What Trig says. Definitely looks like microblisters from moisture under the lacquer. You need to make sure you are painting in a reasonably warm environment with low humidity.

If we (ever!) get a dry day I'll sand it back and have another go then. 3 years isn't bad I suppose for what was a home spray job.

Thanks chaps. :)

Good work you appear to have achieved the standard to be a Mercedes factory painter circa 2001, my wife's CLK cab hast he same stylish effect on the plastic windscreen pillar covers,at least I hope they're covers.

I painted a wing recently and on the final coat of clear the can started spitting out what looked like small blobs of water. I didn't think you got moisture coming out of cans?!
