I'm familiar with Zippy's work.

Bob: "do you have a nickname?" (it's on an illuminated board in front of him, keeps calling him Ian regardless)

They are made by signet and are fantastic quality. Make sure you photocopy your receipt to keep the warranty. Mine has faded so I'm a bit stuck if mine breaks.

I bought them.

I haven't used them yet, but they feel substantial and I definitely now feel confident enough to dismantle absolutely anything.

At £150 I reckon they are a good buy. Full price seems a bit ott, but then I get the feeling they aren't at full price that often.

Might be worth noting that it's only the socket set that has a lifetime guarantee, as the spanners set is from their standard 'I can't believe it's not butter' range.

TOP TIP: Scan and copy your Halfords receipts in case you need to make a warranty claim. The original till jobbies fade away.

I duffed a Halford's ratchet years ago (by my being a spacker and using a scaffolding pole on it), and they replaced it no bother.

I have loads of Halfords tools, mainly sockets, ratchets, spanners etc and they have lasted very well, easily as well as my Britool stuff. They used to be used when I was 'in the trade' and I only ever broke a 1/2'' - 3/8'' step down socket and a torx bit which were replaced no questions asked.

I have a set of flexi head ratchet spanners aswell which have been faultless and one of the best tools ive ever bought!

I just had to take back the screwdriver adaptor socket today as every time I use the screwdriver set I have to use a pair of pliers to pull the heads back out of the socket.

Yesterday I used a bit to much force and pulled the spring out the socket and needed the screwdriver set to put up a new shed today..

I exchanged the socket without any fuss plus the screwdriver head sockets can't be bought on there own so they had to open a complete set just for the one socket and the screwdriver heads only come in the 150 plus size sets so I can't fault that for service..

I should of been cheeky and asked for the the screwdriver heads as well as mine are now getting a bit worn but I didn't want to get chucked out the store lol.

Thumbs up to Halfords..
