Update: have booked it in with HB Exhausts for Friday 16th May for a full stainless system. I was over on Anglesey today and popped by to see them - seemed like a down to earth kind of guy and the workmanship I saw looked good. So the plan is to head there on the Thursday evening to drop off, collect Saturday morning and head straight down to mid Wales for Shitefest. Where you can all check out the system and either be suitably impressed, or tell me how I've wasted my money...

I got a part new old stock one and part reproduction one from a specialist for my Vauxhall Viva.

 

I started fitting it and it became apparent that it needed a small modification.  So I made the small mod, hacking a bit off, and carried on.

 

Seemed to need another small mod.  Then a bit of welding.  Then I thought that one part really wasn't going to fit, but if I just had a bit of pipe......

 

Went down to the local exhaust centre and scrounged a bit of pipe out of the skip.

 

Eventually it fitted, and ten years later it is still working.  But what a fiasco!

They haven't given a firm quote, as understandably without seeing the car they only want to give a rough figure.I'm guessing they perhaps haven't got a vast amount of experience with Stellar systems...

 

It's going to be a few hundred quid, but will update either here or the blog thread with what I think of it. Lifetime guarantee, and importantly I get the right sort of feel from them. Time will tell...
