Vauxhall Ampera ..............How many dash warning lights will an electric Vauxhall display.

The Ampera has sold quite a lot in the states as the Chevy Volt.   It's OK for what it does I think and has far less emissions than the stupid hybrids that can't beat a diesel for fuel economy.

I put in my specs (four people, reasonable sized boot, maxxed out at 125 miles per day which is probably half what I do on average) and it offered me one car - a Prius at £28k plus some mention of additional battery leasing costs.

Erm, no.

Probably not.

The Renault Twizzy looked slightly appealing for most of the MicraShed duties ( I can cope with no heater and no side windows as a seasoned biker) however the £45 a month battery lease is more than I pay for petrol per month.

So in a word. Bollockstothatforagameofsoldiers.

MicraShed stays and another polar bear must die.

25k for a car that is crap, where you have to hire the batteries, and with technology that'll be outmoded by the end of warranty. Utter crap, and when there's enough of them about they'll road raise tax on it also. Certain London Congestion Charge exemptions end soon, expect a wealth of used Prius nonsense on the market soon folks, if that's your bag.

The 'shiter answer to this problem has been available for a while, but without the snazzy website.

Option 1 - Electric hybrid (with gas turbine, but at least no head gasket failure)

Option 2 - Pure electric (ideal for short journeys and delivering your extra cream to housewives)

Option 3 - Alternative fuel (FUK U, Horsey Horseless)
