Internet "wanted" V actually "wanted"

Recommended Posts

Probably just me, but several times I have replied to adverts or posts on the internet asking for "things" car related. Spares or parts.

When I reply offering these "things" they no longer seem to be wanted! Unless I can deliver a free thing for free.

Funny old world eh?

Bob, you git, I scrapped my green French Euroshitter because you were too bone idle to deliver that complete engine, gearbox, chassis and bodyshell plus dangly novelty air freshener that I advertised for, for free.  You are the sort of people that is ruining the internet for the rest of us.

I am indeed a victim of my own selflessness. AICMFP.

BTW, this is based on recent Freecycle experience and nothing to do with folk on here!

I'm peed off with eBay sellers who advertise cars as breaking but when you ring or email them for parts your going to pay pound notes for you get no answer at all

Has the dude pulled the thread that set it all off?   Me no see-um.

EDIT: me, Ray Charles/Stevie Wonder, me.     It has moved sideways, not vanished.

DERR: found the thread - it has been exiled to the other room.  I withdraw my vile calumnies directed at the thread's owner (well, not all of them).

Only until someone suggests that he should have hammered  a smaller Peugeot over it.

I've had it the other way round. Replied to a post about a Vax for sale on Fb, and had to wait 3 days to pick it up.

Got my own back by pointing out 8 things wrong with it and got a tenner knocked off though, then went into the garage and found things to replace the broken bits

I have twice bought shiz from gheybay and/or bumtree, paid for said shiz, and never gone to collect it.

Is that like the 21st-century version of using tenners to light a fire?

Yes, but I am expert at that, alas.  At least this was cheap shiz, but even so.

I think u is too harsh on Mong Man

Well he needs the fecking battery, so he can get the car started, so he can come and get the fecking battery.  Personally I don't know that many people who own a set of jump leads who can borrow a bit of electrical power off their next door neighbour, so get their pile of shite started so they can come and get the battery.
