stuboy Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 my friend going to court monday looking minimum ban on licence ( long story ), is his insurance invalid from the end of the court appearance? as he thinks the car stays insured even though as the policyholder he wont have a valid driving licence.
overrun Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Nope, he is uninsured as of the time he surrenders his licence. You are right, mate.
stuboy Posted January 9, 2014 Author Posted January 9, 2014 Nope, he is uninsured as of the time he surrenders his licence. You are right, mate. keep telling him this but will not listen at all.... thinks we can take his car to court and someone else drive it home... i said er no thanks im not wanting 9 points for uninsured vehicle
wackywacerwill Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 You are correct, play no part in his plan as it has been known on many occasion for the man to be sitting waiting for you to drive home after a unfavorable driving related court appearance.Years back I had to go cap in hand after being nabbed doubling the national limit on a Kawasaki ninja, even back then as a young dumb and full of cum I knew that turning up with a bash hat would not look good...
Cavcraft Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 My old work mate was due to get a band and drove several miles to the court room. The inevitable happened and his solicitor insisted on giving him a lift home, so he had to get the bus back later to drive his car back! Junkman 1

ProgRocker Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 I have heard of a few cases where Plod have caught newly banned drivers leaving courts' car parks in control of their vehicles. Daft risk to take as a custodial sentence for doing so would be a possibility.

My mate was in a band, they had a mk2 transit to carry all the equipment about but never played in a courtroom though
