Is that true?

Can you just drive anything?

Or is there an equivilant?

no MOT, no road tax [they rolled it into fuel duty about 15 years ago] You have to display a "windscreen insurance disc] which displays that you have insurance

That interior is startling, almost in a kind of 60s or 70's American way. I like it a lot.

Those interiors are ace, I had a gold Rekord which had gold velvet seats, gold carpet, gold door cards and a two-tone dash - black over gold.

Very well made and laid out, much nicer than a prefacelift Mk2 Granada interior which feels like an overscaled Mk1 Fiesta inside.

I wish they'd introduce equally sensible regulations in the rest of the UK, minus putting more tax on the petrol, of course, since it is obscenely overtaxed already.

The sooner this Punch-and-Judy show called MoT is scrapped, the better, and the administration alone of this ridiculous tax disc system costs more than what is paid for the tax discs, so it has proudly been a red numbers business since 1921anyway, but what else would one expect from something run by a government.

Anyway, top joghurt truck explosion here and I'm very impressed with the car. It clearly illustrates how Opel/Vauxhall dropped from maker of fine motors for the gentlefolk to producer of absolute and utter tosh that might satisfy a few Chinese, in just 25 short years.

Sounds a great purchase - look forward to seeing pics, no doubt pretty scarce now as well. There's only 20 odd on How Many Left's figures.

Jersey is one of the cheapest places to insure stuff as well [40 mph speed limit, plus stuff rarely gets nicked] Juice is about £1.16 a litre.

Limited to 40mph eh? You might just see 20mpg then. ;)

I had a green Monza 3.0E. Actually quite liked it. Turned out to be a great tow car. BBU88T it was. Had those cool five spoke Ronal alloys. Always thought they looked a bit special on them back in the day.

I'd have an early Opel Senator 3.0E. In black. With those alloys and a red interior. So it looks like the Corgi one I had as a kid.
