Going on from the starting handle thread, what was the last car produced with points ignition? Could it have been the 1990 Skoda Rapid 136?

I'm wondering when the Mini went electronic. The Metro always was I think, certainly the 1275. The Mini lagged behind though. Again though, there's probably something in the Eastern Bloc that still is on points.

All the 1.0 Metro's came with points, some Lucas, some Ducellier.

I've never seen a Lada Riva without points.

Well, Metro 1.0 production also ended in 1990 - clearly a watershed year! Mini 998 continued until 1991. What about Yugos and the like too?

I knew of an 84 Vw jetta with points.
