If you've been on piston heads for a few years you get free advertising in the for sale section.. I've sold a motor on there once and it was hassle free..

You don't get the usual eBay muppet which wants a full history low mileage immaculate garage queen for £150 (even if it was £150 you would still get knocked on the asking price and offered £46.78 in loose change and a bent Scottish £20)

Hmm. Bridge is calling. Easy option.

Shame. Do you reckon they'll do us a two-er deal?

Check out you two queens waving your handbags cos no-one's bought your cars.

Pete, get a fresh ticket on it and re-advertise it in a months time.

Dug, Forget it for the time being, drop the price by about 50% and readvertise in a months time. Yours needs to be cheap enough that someone can buy it on a whim, you need to be selling to folk other than 'GS enthusiasts'. They are the only people who will have a rough idea of the value of the bits (thus will make some sense of the £700 figure) but theres so few of them that the chances of catching one with £700 going spare and the will to weld yours up are zero. You need to find someone who just likes cars, stumbles across it, feels like he quite fancies it and can afford to buy it, and 700 is too much for those sort of characters (I am one of them)

Pete, just sack it off and save the grief. Best money at the moment seems to be Cartakeback (who are based in Liverpool) and I reckon you'd see about £170 for it. You can always switch the battery for a shit one so you have a decent spare, plus the car is gone then and no hassle.

Be daft to weigh it in. You'll get a decent price next month with a ticket. These are nice cars and they do have a following. Too nice a car to chuck over the bridge.

A week before xmas unless its a mint '57 Plymouth Fury with less than 10k miles on the clock for £250 it aint gonna sell easily.

I'm wanting to sell my XJR and this A3 I've got but I'm just spending the time getting the XJR tidied as trying to sell anything just now is hopeless.

In January you get a lot of "OMG my life is shit, that's it I'm going to buy a new car and it'll solve all my problems types" after the new year, which is why the car dealers always sell shite loads in January.

Just lob it on Gumtree for £295. Cheaper than hiring a car for a few weeks.
