Ever Had A Car That Scared you, For Whatever Reason.

That's the most fucked up Polo I've ever seen, it was clearly the same cheap orangey red as mine at some stage. What was the problem driving it on motorways though? I drove all over the country on motorways in mine and didn't find it especially small? You should try a long run on a motorway in a classic mini or fiat 500 if you want to know what small feels like, and those cars didn't particularly phase me. Get over your concerns by buying a Daewoo Matiz.

My mk3 Escort feels a lot smaller than I was expecting. Particuarly height-wise and it is very apparent when using the motorway, with modern traffic alongside.

This also means I am constantly blinded by the headlights of oncoming cars.

It's no big deal, though.

Weird fact.

I'm a good friend of Frank from A Flock of Seagulls. He's a funny bloke, a bloody good musician (surprisingly), and he makes a cracking cup of coffee.

He's also no longer the owner of a gloriously 80s haircut. Ironic as he used to be a barber.

Random photo of Frank with Steve Plater at Oulton Park.

This has bugger all to do with cars.

"Fharkin eww Leepu! Oh my gawd, what's goin on 'ere?!"

I forgot what does genuinely concern me on my RS1600i, is the habit the mk3 Escort has for flinging it's bonnet open at speed.

Resulting in a ruined bonnet/hinges/scuttle/roof/pillars/windscreen and sunroof.

I rarely venture over 70mph on the motorway for this very reason.

We bought a Mk2 phase2 pick up to break. It had all the parts we needed at the time, but also lots of rust we didn't and some bare wires that ran accross the petrol tank and no brakes. I drove it for about 45 mins across town with a fire extinguisher on me knee, and vowed to dump it and run if I hit anything as obviously it wasn't in my name.

Once had a drop arm come adrift from the steering box on a fully loaded luton. I wasn't driving at the time, and the driver who loaded it forgot to mention it. I had to take it only four miles to a show, and unload it. Whilst doing this, it crabbed seemingly sideways on the A40 after hitting a bump. Luckily it was early on saturday morning and there was nothing about. I got back (gawd knows how) parked her up and didn't drive her again till she was fixed.

I drove our Mk1 icey before we owned it, from Acton to Smithfield. She had so many petrol leaks I was so glad I didn't have to do the return, as she was picked up from there to go home to Scotland. Thank god she don't leak that much now!!

My Lada will scare me once I've put it back together. Mainly because I will have put it together!

Vulgalour, you just needed to go faster in the Polo.

Sitting in the outside lane in one at "70mph" flashing 325is out the way is an entirely different way to be scared by them.

My other Polo scared me because I did the engine swap, and I know how many bolts were left over. I drove it round the block and sold it on.
