310 off the Micra Forum is not the UK plated towing weight - the 600 braked is not applicable in this case as it will be unbraked.

I think the figures quoted above are for the K12 Micra.

Possibly so.. But surely similar or slightly less, for a 1.0?

Wouldn't think that 350/400kg would be a problem tbh. Unless towing something huge (and light) and or unstable.

Nah, that will be fine!

Try reading the book 'How to tow heavy things a long way with an unsuitable vehicle' by Mr. Nigel Bickle.

Usual towing outfit is a 2.2 tonne C8 with 1.7 tonne caravan.

Most unsuitable outfit was Xantia towing a BX on a tilt bed trailer. Twas fine. But never towed more than a small camping trailer full of sand ( about quarter of a tonne) with the MicraShed

The MicraShed will rise to the challenge and perform faultlessly. That is what Micras do best!

Top banana :)

It seems cheaper to buy a second hand trailer off the Bay of Evil and use that to pick up said bike than hire a van.

friend pulls a gixer and trailer with 1.0 k11 no problem

So, there you go! No problems. Unless your trailer is made from 6" cast iron drainpipes...

Micra weighs 820kg (kerb weight) max permitted unbraked towing weight of 80% the kerb weight of tow vehicle. Therefore 640kg max (mam - total weight of trailer and payload ). You will be grand.

310kgs unbraked (which it will be).

Surely the 'safety margin' always built in will mean you will be fine?

The car may struggle up hills a bit, but it's not likely to rip the back end off*

Not really so worried about that Bob more the VOSA Gestapo Bastards as the route is mostly motorways and a small car towing something like that will be akin to me running round in a thunder storm wearing copper armour whilst yelling all Gods are cunts and waving a pointy metal lance in terms of attracting unwanted attention.

Understand your concerns. But the above Armageddon scenario is very unlikely. If it all looks safe VOSA interference is unlikely. If all looks well, in all probability all will go well.
