I went swimming in Coniston yesterday in nothing but trunks and a buoyancy aid.

Now I've got sore nipples.

If anyone was wondering, after a couple of days being a bit 'weepy', they seem to have healed up now.

Next time I'll wear a vest.

Mouseflakes, try Sudocream.

IMO, it looks like we are getting somewhere-it seems to be then general consensus is:

Spam is being kept out-great.

We should stop moaning and just enjoy the forum.

Swearing filters would be unpopular.

Delating and locking threads will probably cause trouble-but if it just turns into a slagging match and nothing else, probably best to bin it.

The report function is fine if it’s not abused. The mods aren’t stupid and I’m sure they will tell if it is.

So err, moderate in moderation?

Can I add...

Don't delete the offending threads, just lock them.

I have no idea what you're all banging on about since I didn't read the item.

Presumably because the title implied that I wouldn't have enjoyed it.

Reading locked threads and tutting profusely is one of my sole remaining interweb pleasures

How about a 'hide thread' option?

I know this was the very first opinion in this thread but I reckon it's a simple idea and therefore probably the best. I've no idea whatsoever if it's easy to implement but if it were, I'd defo use it. Despite my extremely low post count (which has taken a mere 4 years to accumulate) I come on here most days but invariably skip a lot of threads, as they aren't of much interest. That's a personal preference rather than any real issue with the forum but it'd be great if each time I came on, the forum page wasn't littered with all the stuff I'm not bothered about. I'd use it just like getting rid of e-mails from my account, etc.

Only thing is, I don't reckon a list for all to see about what I or others would 'ignore' (in the way that friends/foes are listed) would be any use, as it could probably cause animosity. However, everything could stay like it is and I'd still visit, so it may well just be best for Dave to stop any further mods for a while, since it must be taking up a lot of his spare time.
