No, I'd have to say I lived there...

Yeah, I guess moving in with the inlaws would be a bit of an extreme solution!

It makes you wonder though, how would they know?

i've been told that some companies don't want to quote me because I had insurance declined in October because I couldn't produce a licence.this is news to me! What's going on?

Ok, i'm now covered!

I found Octagon was cheapest through Compare the Meer Spak at £378, however when I rang them up to see if I could get it cheaper they immediately said no, and also told me the driving other vehicles extension wasn't included so I told them to FRO and shopped around a bit more. I eventually went through gocompare.com and got the same policy via Octagon for £300 with the driving other vehicles extension.

Basically the whole insurance field is full of bastards, but i'm covered for a reasonable amount, so i'm happy.

My current policy on the volvo 240 estate is with swinton. they rang me to let me know it was up for renewal, for something like 440 quid. I pretty much told them to piss off.

went on moneysupermarket, cheapest was 202, closely followed by another for 226...with swinton.  dickheads.

Yes, they're pretty much all guilty of that game though I think.

Just got a good deal on the Sceptre with Adrian Flux - about 25 per cent cheaper than my renewal quote from Heritage.

I got an email from Confused quoting me £148 for insurance from M&S, who I'm with at the moment and who have already offered to auto-renew at £250. Shower of axe wounds. I kind of have to stay with M&S because they didn't ask for any paperwork for my LPG conversion and I'm worried that another insurer would.

Co-operative insurance? Really tricky because all insurers are see you next Tuesday's at the end of the day.

Probably too late to help here, but I've found brokers Lifesure very easy to deal with and very competitive on price. Admittedly I'm living in a low risk area and I'm older than I used to be, but it can't hurt to give them a try if anyone is looking. I used them as they were recommended for imports (for my Delica) but I've ended up with a policy for the Saxo from them too. OK - I guess the proof of the pudding comes when you have to make a claim (as with any cover) and I haven't had to yet, so can't comment there.
