They only just introduced this mileage limitation thing about a week or so ago, are they going to change their name now because of this?

What do they do with the cars they buy out of interest?

Tart them up and flog them for £££s at CarShaft? Wouldn't surprise me.

I suspect they tart up the better ones and palm them out of CarShaft, then put the rest through the crusher, probably making a fairly decent profit in the process.

My mate was offered £5 for his K plate Astra saloon as a trade in at Car Craft a number of years back.  At that point he walked out, found a Mondeo at a back street trader and got £300 trade in for the Astra...

The two occasions I've set foot in Car Craft I've been appalled at how overpriced the cars are and at what utter crap quality they are too.  My friend wanted to test drive an Ibiza they had.  After 20 minutes of watching the salesman trying to start the thing (and having noted the paint overspray all over the engine bay), I suggested we look elsewhere...

First time I went to Carcraft, years ago (2003-4ish), it was great. They just left you alone to wander around a massive plot full of unlocked cars. If you wanted a family hatch or supermini there couldn't be any better place - they had at least one of all the major models and you could have a good poke around loads of different cars at your own pace.

More recently I visited another branch, and it was very different. Most noticeably the cars were locked, so a salesman had to be called to retrieve the keys for each one. Naturally he hung around while the car was looked over.

My son sold his Volvo S60 2.4 auto to them and got back almost what he paid for it - it was seriously buggered but looked OK.

They bough my youngest grandson's other grandad's S-type Jaguar when he died and paid £1200 for it.  Immaculate condition and everything working, five years old.

Had I known I'd have snapped it up but his widow just wanted it gone quickly.

I was listening to my cheesy local commercial radio station the other day and heard an advert for this rival. Subtle alteration in name, don't you think?
