Non shite Mazda RX-8 alarming issues

Just been outside with one of the MD's as her alarm keeps going off. 2008 RX-8. Any of you chaps have any experience with these? A quick google says the alarm is stupidly sensitive anyway, and it has just fucked it down with rain here, but being the MD I'm keen to earn some easy brownie points.

She's left me the keys and told the girl who sits next to where it is parked to let me know so I can run down and de-set it. It damn nearly flattened the battery, she's gone out for a drive to juice it up, and because you apparently can't turn it off straight away as it'll eat itself or similar.

Where I've got my ideas from. May try the palm-slap on the windscreen later and see if it does it (wen she's not looking of course)

I think you will find that RX8s are particularly shite!

Kind of like a NSU RO80 for the 21st century.

Turn it off completely. If anyone steals it the rotor tips will fall off and it'll run out of oil before they get out of town anyway.

started happening to my 607 when I threw the pollen filter away.

I think any gust of wind would get into the cabin and set of the movement sensors.

I found that it was quite easy to unplug the movement sensors and now the alarm only goes off if a door is opened

Any vehicle where the majority of Ebay auctions are for non-runners is solid gold shite. Give it a couple of years and some examples will be worth less than the annual road tax cost!

Can you not set the heating / ventilation to recirculate to limit the amount of air movement inside the car?

This worked for me on my 944.

I know this sounds daft, but have you checked for any wildlife in the car? My van carries fruit & veg and the alarm gets activated by assorted insects that find their way through the gap in the bulkhead in to the cab. Usually spiders, sometimes the odd flying thing, occasionally caterpillars that turn into butterflies.

Turn the alarm off or deactivate it altogether if possible. No car has ever been saved by an alarm.
