I had the fortune to be at Thruxton a few weekends back and they had a 'Super Touring Cars' race which included 90's Primeras, 80's Sierra Cossie's and Beemer M3's as well as a BOSS 302 mustang which sounded ace but didnt do very well.

 

all but one of the sierras blew up but they were good while they were out and damn quick.

 

Not sure who won, might have been a Primera. good fun watching them being driven the way they were intended though.

BTCC is quite probably the only race track inspired motor sport worth watching.

 

At Oulton a couple of years back some geezer was running a diesel BMW. He was constantly getting lapped but his car was doing pretty well really.
