This 205 Sceptred Bilge - fingers crossed

It runs.  I need to refit the cam cover and the like, but it runs. Tomorrow I will get it warmed up and find all of the other missing bits, like one of the glowplug nuts, the collar for the throttle cable, and other shizzle.

The battery (Bosch) hasn't had anything done to it since I disconnected it in July - I'm very impressed!

Thanks, chaps, I hope to be able to find stuff yet!  I wonder just how few bits I can get away with it not having to get it on the road...

Went out this morning with the dog and found the throttle collar lying on the deck, just in front of the car.  Once I got back, I fitted this, and the cam cover, and fired it up to get it up to temperature.  I gave it a bit of a rev:

Bastards. I'd not bothered to put the crank pulley on either, so the top engine mount was the only thing stopping it falling off completely.  Tensioner came off again, and another piece of mackeral can went in behind it (30 thou).  If this doesn't do it, then I'll have to hope the pulley keeps it in place...

I took a vide-o of it, next time I started it up - listen close at the end, it drops onto 3:

Cured the misfire by cracking open the injectors while it was running, there was plenty of air in no.4.

It ran up to temperature, and this afternoon, I taxed it and took it out for a spin - it works!

I think the pulley makes all the difference. I made the mistake of running my Mk1 BX sans pulley after a timing belt change and the sodding thing nearly fell off! It was fine with the pulley in place. (as in drove to Paris and back in a day sort of fine).

Just back from a 25-mile trip up to Boroughbridge and back at motorway speeds (after bodging up an earth for the driver's side heidlamp), it seems to have performed very well, so - fingers crossed.
