Maxi barn find - maybe my next project

Have just been down to Hampshire to look at this. It is a 1980 Russet Brown Maxi 1750 and has been off the road since 1997, the same length of time my current one was off the road. It is sitting in an old Chicken barn and is covered in bird crap, the suspension has also deflated, not surprisingly. The engine turns over and the interior looks decent. As far as I could tell it seems fairly solid underneath but could not get too far under.

Looks straight, good inside too, whats the bodywork like?

(This doesn't mean the end for Flakey?)

No definatley not the end of flaky think I have found an engine. The body looks okay, found a couple of areas of filler but seems straight enough. Hard to tell under sixteen years of muck.

Do it! Does chicken shit effect the paintwork though?

Taking this on after what you've done with the other one would make you AN LEGEND in my book. Good luck!

Looks pretty sexy - DO IT!

An actual genuine barn find too, rather than just using ebay motors new favourite phrase.

Thanks guys as ever. I do get sentimental when I see old cars hidden away. It belonged to the father of the woman selling it and she is keen to see it back on the road.

We think it is probably pigeon droppings rather than chickens as apparently the car was put in the barn after the chickens departed will be.interesting to see it after it has been hosed down!

Wait a minute... one LHD Renault 14 and two barn-find Maxis in assorted shades of brown? Do you live in 1977? :D Rather you than me, but if you take this on, you will automatically achieve Shite hero status!

:D I think I am in the wrong decade, I do have an odd taste in cars.

I was going to get rid of the 14 but I can't bring myself to. It is going thave to wait till the autumn before it gets looked at though!
