Beats me why Corgi failed to exploit this casting 40 years ago. With a little tweaking at the time it could have been recycled as a family car/taxi/copcar/Sceptre; they did exactly none of that! It disappeared fairly swiftly from the product lineup and even battered ones fetch frightening sums on the bay. Now they've taken over Vanguards it would be a natural for a reissue as suggested above, but no, not a hint.

CORGI: WAKE UP! WHERE ARE ALL THE HUNTERS??????

I did this fairly crude conversion years ago but never really finished it. It could do with some suitable bumpers and some of Vanguards better Rostyles:

Excellent! I have some code 3 conversions I've done on this model too: one in red, representing the 1500 Minx we had, way back in about 1980, LTC 385F; one in various shades of green, with further mods, as my Sceptre bought from Ginger McCain in 1983, SWF 87H; and one I haven't finished yet, to be my white Minx 1725 automatic from 82, HWM 916F. Can't post pics, sorry, as the models are all packed now and in fact have gone to the new address. Should be moving in properly in about a fortnight, can't wait!

I agree! They need to bring it back! Add Sunbeam, Singer, Paykan, Humber into the line up, they could make a killing out of them!

As a Vanguard it would surely sell as well as the Avenger and Mk3 Cortina. Maybe we should get up a list of suggestions for them?

1: Hunter (in various guises)

2: Victor (so far we've only had the F-type, where are the FB/101/FD/FE? FD could even be done in white, issued with a red Mini; there's your Randall & Hopkirk set!

3: Viva HA and HC, since they already do the HB. HC opens up Magnum and Firenza, of course...

4: Bedford CF; they already have the Transit of course.

5: Sherpa. It's available in the James Bond Collection, there must be a tie-up they could do.

6: Maxi. Just because I hated mine, doesn't mean everyone else should be deprived.

Any more? Feel free to jump in...

Hey I'm seeing a guy from Hornby / Corgi at some point, I might suggest some of these.

In other news, Mash - you have PM!

RELIANT ROBIN!

I'm shocked they haven't made one yet, it would be great. I would buy loads of them....

I was so annoyed they never made a saloon version of the Regal too....

I have no idea what this is, the picture from the back doesn't seem to match up with what's at the front. But I'm intrigued...

Well if they are accepting suggestions how about Maestro Montego Metro. It seems as though a scale model of almost every eighties car is available (across various diecast brands) except anything from Austin-Rover who, apart from the SD1 and a few 6R4s, seem to have been ignored.

Edit - I realise Both Hornby and Corgi made Metros and Maestros years ago, but I'm talking collectable diecast models not toys

+1 on the M/M/M-cars, definitely, having owned all three flavours. Mk1 Cavalier? They already have the Mk2... Chevette, maybe?

What about a 'BullsEye' box set with a box that looks like the studio, with a middle aged brummie couple NOT getting handed the keys to a cinnabar red Metro City by Jim Bowen. Lets take a look at what you could have won!

I like the way they tried to make the cars on Bullseye seem more glitzy by putting the hazard lights on.

That looks absolutely superb - can't help thinking it's a strange choice of car to produce such a superb model of though.

That'll sell like hotcakes. Though maybe not in the UK. Think of how many Lada enthusiasts, or people who can say "I/my Dad had one of those*" there'll be in Eastern Europe and Russia.

Seriously? Is there a 1/18 Lada? I have to have one, even in LHD. Please tell me they do them in white...

For once the panel fit on a die-cast car looks about as accurate as the real thing.

Only in cream or red it seems. The same casting will also be a SEAT 124 and Fiat 124 as well although the Lada is the first one due out. RRP is £49.99, looks like they should be popular - the 1/43 IST / IXO stuff had sold very well, especially the Lada models. Already presold most of ours, although we do have a couple left...

Dear me! That's what I used to pay for them at 13 feet long! Oh well, another one for the List*.

Who's going to be the first to turn one of those into a Sierra base?

Are there any 1/43 non-Cosworth mk.2 Sierras on the market?
