Hi guys. As i said in a previus thread i am in need of a automatic. Well my Pals wife is going to be selling her Hr-v auto its a 1.6 auto in that very nice shade of gold they do. Its a Sreg with afew noticable parking bumps but thats really all i know as yet. Now i was hoping to get it for around £600ish but after a look on Ebay around a £1300 seems normal for one of these on this age. Are they any good? Also am i really underpricing the car as the guy is a nice guy and i dont want him thinking im being dickhead with him?

I have several friends in Cyprus with these, including one that's a gold automatic! They love them over there, Hondas have a reputation for bulletproofness that other manufacturers can only envy. Keep on top of stuff like the filters. In my opinion you will find it very hard to do better for the price.

How could a car marketed thus be anything but awesome?

They might have oversold it, but they have a pretty good rep.

Exception to that rule being the Crossroad

Never even knew a Honda badge ended up on a disco;I'm sure they kept it a secret !!

Honda engines as a rule tend to be very good, providing like with all motors they are serviced properly

Honda Crossroad. IIRC Japan only. A lot are coming back over here.... slightly better spec than UK Discos. Then again, a derelict public toilet is generally better specced than a Discovery.

LOL......a derelict toilet often smells better too.

They do look a bit like a giant pram though

Yeah, and a derelict public toilet has a less soggy floor than most discos too!

Was that Honda's 'Nissan Cherry Europe/Alfa Arna' moment?

I do like the look of the HR-V. :) One of the very few SUVs I wouldn't mind owning.
