Fact. When I was about 7 or 8, our school sports day was marred by a thunderstorm. The teachers 'cleverly' herded us under some trees, but we then got shuttled to school in various parents' cars. I ended up with about ten other kids in a Ford Cortina 80 estate. T'was blue and the seats were folded down to allow more of us to cram in. Health and Safety was just a twinkle in the eye back then.

something nice about it being an estate, very cool, brings back memories of me being 7 or so and my mates dads KSL 6X grey tina estate with those chrome wheel finnishers and one of these for sounds...

I always wanted a Cortina 80, but by the time I was in a position to buy one they were really hard to come by, hence why I bought The Volvo, which I consider to be the Swedish version of the Cortina 80 :)

I'm old enough to have been driving back when these were the default 250 quid banger, and must have had about a dozen of them. The first thing I always used to do was ditch the VV carb (because they are shit) and stick a weber on

I saw that on ebay and thought it looked to have an interesting history, as skattrd said it looks like an honest description (especially as he's a dealer they either tend to say nothing about the car or over sell it). A steal at that price and with MOT.

Cortina enthusiasts are a lovely bunch of people and the members at that site would be more than happy to offer advise and encouragement.

agreed on all counts. Was that on the ebay thread here? Get yerself over to buysell.

I didn't notice it on the ebay thread here, I was looking at Cortinas on ebay and thats when I spotted it.

The MKV Cortina is a lovely car to drive and the seats are so comfortable, anyone considering getting a MKV I can fully recommend one, a very solid car but watch out for rust.
