Car valuation.

Bought some old bike (cycle) stuff today off a cracking bloke with a very interesting car collection. In one of his storage places he has a 1964 Wolseley 16/60, it's the Farina shaped one, and he wants to sell it.

I haven't seen it yet but it is only a two owner car, the chap I spoke to and his aunt, who passed away a few years back. He says genuine 44,000 miles but even though it was stored indoors (barn I think) it is rusty and isn't an easy project. He said four good second hand doors and two 'repair panels' (no idea what repair panels) are included, as is original bill of sale from when the car was new.

So it sounds rough-ish but very original and would probably fire up if anyone wanted to hear it running. Obv. without pictures it's never going to be easy to get a decent valuation, but anyone have a fair idea of what it's likely to be worth?

I'm going to go up to where the car is in the next couple of weeks and try and get some pictures and better details, but he's asked me to help him sell it and I've no idea of a likely value. Don't fancy it being raced (but if the money is there then fair enough) or put on eBay just yet, he is I think hoping someone who like this kind of thing will take it on and restore it. He reckons (hopes, if you like) it's worth 'a few hundred quid, but not a grand'. How does that sound?

I suggest you ask the owners club, better chance of a reasonable price and it being spared B&Q Value gloss.
