Yes folks, that's 1,996cc of Ford's finest* V4 as seen in the Corsair, lugging what must be over a ton and a half of car plus corpse towards the final resting place.

Let's just hope there weren't too many hills on the way there.

I don't think it is the V4 engine, it looks like the bonnet has the V6 badge above the nearside headlight.

Y'know, I think you might be right - which shows me to be an unobservant twonk, as I'd hitherto gone gaily through life believing that the V4 Zephyr MkIV could be recognised by its weird flat front like this one; whereas the V6 Zephyr had the fake full-width grille; the Zodiac had quad lamps up front; and the Zodiac Executive gained extra driving lights.

Turns out it was specifically the Zephyr 6 Deluxe which boasted the full width grille, while the non-deluxe V6 shared its front styling with the lowly V4, with only a weird offset badge to indicate to others that you had 50% more cylinders.

Well, I guess at least that proves it was a base model V6, at any rate...

Alternative explanation for the pale mark on the bonnet: there are a lot of seagulls down round that castle...

Yes, it must be a base V6.

You could also get a Zephyr deluxe with the V4 engine and full width grille.
