Anyone experiencing random hyperlinks

Is there some sort of pay-per-click thing going on now, or have the spambots stepped up a notch?

Reading through posts today random words are hyperlinked, hovering over them brings up a little advert, mainly to win a crappy ithing 5...

Or is it always like this and my popup blocker has died?

I started to get the same problem on Chrome recently, gone back to IE7 and it's fine again.

Sounds like you have CouponDropDown. I'm trying to get shot of it but can't. If I find out how to get rid, I'll let you know. I suspect an aggressive uninstall patching up the registry via Glary and Revo Uninstaller may be on the cards.

I'm on Chrome and it's not doing anything like that. I do have ad-blocker installed though.

I have too, it kills the displayed ads but the wanky hotlinks are still there.

That'll be definitely something on your PC rather than the Autoshite server, as I'm not seeing anything like that and I'm not running any plugins at all.

On my phone now and nothings coming up now. Maybe microsoft security essentials has failed, will do some investigating later

I use Chrome and had this happen a few months back, I put a few searches through Google to find an answer, it is out there, look for a virus scanner that is used for this problem, right now I can't remember it's name but a good specific few google searches should reveal it, and as far as I recall I needed to run 2 or 3 virus scans to root it all out.
