It was sold to a member of the Autobahnstormers who lives way oop narf, Bishop Auckland or sum such. A right pain in the arse that guy was alright.

I'd say it's alive and well. It was the only 2.6 manual estate left back then (allegedly). Check the number plate with the DVLA online.

That's not all. Can't find photos of two more Ladas, another Range Rover, five Granada MKIIs, a Lorinser 560 SEL, an '86 Olds 98 Regency and some stuff I forgot about.

In 1989 I bought a 78 Caprice with the 350/350 and 180k miles on the clock, drove it another 380k miles in seven years of ownership, then sold it.

Best car I ever had. Truly regret selling it. The 78 is the best of the bunch btw.

Love the old Mercury, that's a fantastic barge.

 

Have a strange liking for LDV Convoys / Sherpas etc too.
