Anyone had any experiance of these, Seen a very cheap one with 90k on the clock, runs well and is clean with history etc.

 

Only want it to chuck dogs in and go to a few shoots, nothing seriouse.

 

What are they like for reliability?

Father Tops had a 96 Sportidge for about 8 years and dragged a caravan all over with it.

To the best of my knowledge the only expence he ever had was a cat for an mot once.

Mazda mechanicals and a reasonble build.

Spare wheel carrier was a pain in the arse though!

They've got a good rep but seem to be utterly undesirable at the moment. I was tempted to get one when after my budget 4x4 but it just didn't seem quite tough enough for what I had planned.

Look out for corroded fuel pipes. Seen a few now, start to leak towards the rear of the tank on the chassis side.

Rear axle problems are not unknown [diff, from memory]

My dad had one as a work hack for a while. It was very reliable and he was pleased with it, but Ithought the ride quality was shit.
