Montego wanted for mag feature

I don't often post up requests for feature cars, but I'm urgently seeking a Montego in good condition for a feature. The Monstro club are also looking but time is short!

 

I'm looking to shoot the feature on Friday and need a car somewhere between mid-Wales and Milton Keynes as I happen to be travelling there that day. Obviously some remit for travel either side of this route but would be prefer something relatively close.

 

A HL would be about spot on, but specification really isn't important (though I'm not after an MG).

My first thought would be to get in touch with Captain Slow of this parish, but I don't know if he's in Sheffield or Peterborough at the moment, what with him doing car magazine journalism type stuff.

Aye, he's a strong contender and is putting the word about for me, but his car has been featured in the media quite heavily of late. However, it is lovely...

Have you spoken to 2CVGB man Chas Vasey-Ashe? He is (or was) something to do with the management of the museum at Gaydon, and might be able to help.

To be honest, the museum is never very helpful with providing cars. The last car I did a photo shoot on at Gaydon was Chas's own Traction Avant in the car park!

Is there a Montego at Gaydon? I must get over there again for a "BL fix"

Gaydon does have at least one Montego. The one I've seen is a 'signature' one signed by employees. The car was then left outside for a time so most of the signatures have faded... (they lost their extra storage very quickly and had a nightmare trying to re-house the collection a few years back).

 

I think Cap'n Slow has managed to find me a motor. Just waiting for confirmation.
