Minty Yamaha Fs1e(M) FIZZY for SALE(again).

Sold!

An eBay bidder sent me an email after the bike failed to hit its reserve. I emailed to say that he could have it for the reserve price. Then a bloke rang and wanted to see the bike, but while talking to him the eBayer emailed back accepting the offer, so I felt honour bound to do the deal with him.

Months of nothing, and then a rush.

I missed my target price by a oner, but, hey ho.

I went for a twilight ride on my red Fizzy, and found a fiver in my biker jacket. Win!

That's not the correct rear light unit on that is it?

Fuctifino, probably not, but, er, who cares? I am not planning to enter for any prizes, except perhaps for "fat bloke falls off" prizes. I might have a shot at those.

Well, I'd not be losing any sleep over it either - mine was the Baja Brown drum brakes version.

Heck, it was hard enough finding a rear mudguard back in 1982 for one of these things

I did eventually source one for £2 from memory.

This is the light unit style that came with mine

You can get the light on eTrashbay, but I haven't seen the bracket for sale, and CBA to swap it, if I am brutally honest with myself.

Baja Bronze is quite collectable these days. My teenage ride was purple, but totally broken down.

EDIT: Arse! Found the bracket on wasteyourmoneyBay. Now I am tempted.

Knob cheddar! Now I have made a bid.

Note to self: do not go on eBay without a grown up.

I sold mine to a mate from School - asked of its whereabouts (many moons ago) and it was suspected of being last seen leaning against the wall of a farm in the local area.

Further enquiries came to a dead end unfortunately.

To be fair, it was pretty well shagged out ....even at 6 years of age

I had a Fizzy as my first legal on the road bike in 1983. It was a very late (July 77) R reg. One of the last of the unrestricted ones. It would do a indicated 55 on a slight downhill BUT it was fitted with a 60cc big bore kit so I was cheating I suppose.lol. I "think" it was actualy a FS1M-DX as it had Autolube with the black plastic side panels instead of the earlier steel ones and the front disc brake instead of the drum.

It was last heard of in Barrowford in Lancashire.

I drove past the house of the guy I sold it too a good few years ago as I was told its was still in the garage as he fell off it and he was told he couldn't ride it again. To be honest I think the last bit is shite as its not been taxed since I sold it and it only had till late 83 to run if my memorys right.

OTD 622R was the number if that jogs anyones memory.lol.
