Bren Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Looks like a good buy Pete. Your biggest worry is not the cam, it is the less savoury members of the banger fraternity sniffing round their favourite weapon of choice.Supplies have dried up big time.Mate of mine is well into his old ford's, used to have quite a few, some outside his gaff, he said many a time he has clocked people doing the slow drive past to see what he had, and they wern't reminiscing either - he recognised some of them as racers as his mate was into bangering as well. Get yourself a doberman.
Pete-M Posted August 26, 2012 Author Posted August 26, 2012 Ah, trust me I'm well aware of the HIAB discount scheme amongst some of the less discriminatory members of the 'end of life' vehicle community... It has a safe place to live.
Lacquer Peel Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 It's no Granada 2.5 diesel but I like it. It would look a lot better with a set of period number plates.
Pete-M Posted August 26, 2012 Author Posted August 26, 2012 1983 Ford Granada 2.8i Injection Estate by Trigger's Retro Road Tests!, on Flickr This is how I'm thinking of taking mine a bit. I'm gonna lose the chrome from mine I think, it's tired here and there now. It'd be better black and I'd rather get those chrome arches off it. I'm no fan of grey leather, so the interior may well go black with black leather Recaros. Basically, I'd like to make a comfy, fast, but bodily standard looking car. Turn it from a Ghia X into more like a Ghia S. 24v engine, 4 speed auto box, Bilsteins, injection spec anti roll bars. The best bits from the Ghia X, injection, and 24v jobs. I'm very tempted to fit BBS-esque split rims, and now I've seen it on 17's that may just be the size it needs...
Albert Ross Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Can I suggest the Fondmetal 4000? Dunno where you'd find any, but they shold be a coloured spoke, with a laser cut and polished/lacquered rim. Mmmmmmm tasty. Looked good on my Mk1 Sierra, until I sold them due to a seriously great cash offer came in for the wheels alone. They went onto a Pug 306. Yeah. I know.
HMC Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Really like the look of your granada, and the direction your taking it in. What film does it feature in?
Pete-M Posted August 26, 2012 Author Posted August 26, 2012 Film is called It's not out til September.
kevcar1 Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 arr NHK is long gone now, it was a 2.8i sport. I've know that car for years and worked on it a few times,I have a pic of it with boloc and a Mk1 and 2 cosworth's.

"This photo was taken on August 19, 2012 using a Canon EOS 450D." by "Trigger's Retro Road Tests" - I suspect it's still running...
Pete-M Posted September 4, 2012 Author Posted September 4, 2012 Before I start with my evil deeds on this, does anyone want to buy it? It'll have to be a quick sale, so I can chuck the money at my Jag instead, but if anyone is interested, gimme a shout.
kevcar1 Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Pete thanks for the offer, but having thought about it now it's no sorry it holds too many memories good and bad..........
Pete-M Posted September 5, 2012 Author Posted September 5, 2012 No worries. I'll chuck it back on eBay....
Pete-M Posted September 8, 2012 Author Posted September 8, 2012 Didn't need to chuck it on eBay. Chatting to a mate today who didn't know about the Granny. He's buying it. Job done. Gives me space to start playing with the Jag again. Ah well, another project abandoned but it's gone to a decent chap and he's got a shed full of injection bits for 'em, Bilsteins etc. Happy days.
Pete-M Posted September 18, 2012 Author Posted September 18, 2012 In latest news, 'buyer' has been to see it twice, and he brought his wife last time. She appeared to like it. However, if they don't buy it.... it's still provisionally up for grabs.
Pete-M Posted October 3, 2012 Author Posted October 3, 2012 Up for grabs again..... any of you lot interested?
