1982 Polski Fiat 125p Estate

I think the Polski is well cool too but I am a little surprised at it going down so well with you guys.

Anything done to the car will be in good taste, No big roof spoiler and fiberglass skirt kits ere.

I would like to eventually find an early chrome front grill to do away with the black plastic one

Bloody hell you've got some ace stuff going on there. Tell us more about the two wheeled Italian shite please...

The 2 wheeled shite in the pic was a 1956 Binz 50cc scooter from Germany and a 1958 Vespa GS150 vs4, Original dealer special.

Both bikes UK reged from new but also both sold this year to keep the garage going, Cant have everything eh?

Polski is lush.

Is your garage open to the public? If not, how about Wednesday and Sunday afternoons 2-4pm. £1 entry with concessions for pensioners and students. You could hire out those earset things that 'talk' you through the exhibits and serve really crap afternoon teas in the caravan.

Ha ha  Not open to the public yet but thats a good idea, Been living on bread and water for 2 years, I might be able to get myself a hot meal out of it

Love it, does your other half like the lada?

Does it matter?!

Nice to see your pair!

Posted

I would happily buy you a pint if I could sit in your 125p for 5 minutes making vrooming noises.

Posted

It doesn't matter, it was just an attempt at humour which would have appeared to have failed on at least one level. She didn't like the fso but maybe she liked the lada.....

Thats a cracking deal bring it on

Been sat there doing that myself

The previous driver from back in the day left some big fat cigar butts in the ashtray.

I tried to get a mental picture of the guy cruising along with fat cigar in his mouth

Just going through the wiring under the bonnet as its been messed with a bit but alls good.

Removed tailgate lock as I need a key cut to open petrol flap.

Previous owner hot wired and started from a can of fuel under the bonnet...

There's no call for language like that. She needs better meds, that's all.

Meanwhile, having owned both (but not at the same time; you lucky man you!) the front doors of both cars are close enough to be interchangeable (ask me how I know...). The back doors are different because the Lada estate was the complete Fiat 124 body. The Polski was based on the 125 which Fiat never made as an estate; those back doors are therefore interchangeable with a 124 or Lada saloon. The Polski is several inches longer as you've probably noticed. With the back seats folded down there's a lot of room for blankets and spare caravan cushions... ...much more so than the Lada. The tailgate lock is the same design on both.

I am a lucky man I know, Proper blessed

Sounds like you have plenty of experience with both cars, Thanks for the info that will no doubt come in very handy

The boot space in the FSO is massive compared to the Lada, Would be a great car for camping, Will need a tow bar now for one of my little caravans.

What's the big grey primered GRP "thing" next to the Lada? Is it a campervan body for a pick up or a cabin for a boat?

The first car I ever travelled in was a poo brown Poxy-Fiat, complete with even pooier brown vinyl roof - GHO 358S - must be why I have a wierd liking for these cars!

Nice to see one being well looked after - good luck with it!

Nice to see some interest in the old banger :D

Sorry to those who think it should be left alone

New engine is a Fiat 2.0 twink with twin 40s and 5 speed box.

Latest wheel choice is some Cosmic's from the early 70s

I take it you had the Twink stashed away somewhere? 'Cos they're not growing on trees like they used to anymore!

Friend of a friend, had a Lada estate in shite beige, with that engine and 'box in, back in the early 90's. Still on steels and hubcaps, he was a bit of a nemesis to the local boy racers. They just didn't get how this shitty old Lada was wasting them, away from the lights. It ended up with white Wellers on, which would be a suitable 'period' mod  .

Yum yum yum. Great buy and I love the contents of your house, I mean garage. Great sounding mods.

Fab!

Picked it up locally only a few days ago after putting out the feelers when I bought the car.

I did think about this option for the Lada also, Maybe one day
