Photo download help!

Could some kind soul please explain in "Mr Stupidly inept at technology", terms how I can down load pics from Imageshack into a topic?

It's not an image host I use much (possibly why no-one's answered so far - it doesn't seem that popular for some reason), but here's how I'd do it.

 

From the index page, choose the photo you want to upload and select "share it" (top button with the little 'I' on it) then select "thumbnail size" for forums. This will show a small image which can be clicked to bring up the full size picture.

It looks like Imageshack doesn't offer a resizing facility so this way means that big photos don't bugger up the forum the way it does if you upload a huge picture.

 

 

As an alternative I find http://imgur.com/ really easy to use. It offers a one shot upload off your computer either by clicking the "computer" button and navigating your way to wherever you keep your pictures or easier still, you can drag and drop a picture onto the web page.

Once you've clicked the "upload" button you'll then see several links, the one you want is the "BBCode" one, just copy & paste onto the forum, assuming the original picture size is forum friendly. (usually anything bigger than 800x600 causes the forum to have to resize the pic, which sometimes works and sometimes doesn't depending on your browser/device)

If it isn't there's a handy "large thumbnail" option below the links box, which gives this size of pic.

Another one is use is http://www.tinypic.com Just click browse, choose photo, change the resize setting to "message board", fill in the stupid Captcha code, then once it's finished uploading (only a few second) you copy and paste the code under "IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards" that starts
