OT: Ebay - leaving feedback for buyers returns!

Off topic but thought I'd give it it's own thread as we have all suffered at the hands of ebay moron buyers.

When to report a buyer

From October, you’ll be able to report a buyer you’ve had transactions with for the following reasons:

The buyer made unreasonable demands.

The buyer left inappropriate Feedback.

The buyer abused the eBay Buyer Protection process.

The buyer misused returns.

The buyer hasn't paid.

Other problems.

How to report a buyer

You can easily report a buyer at a number of clearly signposted points, including where you leave Feedback for the buyer. You’ll be able to report a buyer up to 90 days after a transaction.

Select the transaction you want to report as well as your reason for reporting the buyer.

Next, you’ll have the option of writing a report, including as many details as you like. For example, you might want to include screenshots or copies of emails between you and the buyer.

Submit your report.

When your report has been submitted, we’ll notify you by email that it is being processed.

Not sure if this only applies to business sellers though?!

That looks like a good thing RS, especially the bit about 'buyer misusing returns' as there are myriad stories about people sending back broken items etc on purpose.

Regarding the internet auction site I usually don't bid on private listings, but sometimes do if I decide there aren't too many bids or potentially suspicious ones. What I've decided to do if I win the item is to put the listing number on the feedback, i.e 'item no 244889901 as described' or whatever. That way if they're trying to hide what they're selling then other people can see it now.

Petty I know but it makes me feel better.

Can't see anything there that says you will be able to leave negative feedback, only report them?

The problem with the old system was if you did get screwed by a seller and left a negative, you knew full well you would get bad feedback in revenge even though you'd done nothing wrong

Yeah it's not exactly the same as it used to be, basically a seller has more scope to report a pisstaking buyer - there is a new report buyer option on the feedback page.

The tit for tat system worked in some ways as a mutual fear thing, you knew you'd get one in return so better to sort out any problems.

All the "improvements" did were to load the buyers hand way out of proportion.

It's evilbay, the reports will end up being ignored same as they ignore anything that doesn't affect their ability to rake in the cash from sellers.

It's too loaded to buyers at the min. I've got an arse who gave me a duff address & just keeps repeating "I ain't got it m8", like it's my fault. Evilbay will of course side with said arse.

I had one of those, from Germany! When it came straight back to me, I looked the address up on Google Earth. A bloody park.

I told Ebay to do the same -kept the goods & the money with their agreement! Doesnt always go the buyers way.
