VX Corsa B help needed, asbestos breeks donned.

I haven't asked this on Corsa forums as they are full of wee neds. At least on here everyone has a brain!

I have had a strange problem with this car since I got it 2 years ago.

What happens is that when it rains, water drips down the engine bay side of the bulkhead, just inboard of the brake servo and onto the offside suspension mounting. It's definitely plain water and not brake fluid, coolant or screenwash. It must be pooling somewhere as it will continue to do this for some time after the weather had dried up. Anyone know where the water should actually be draining?

Albert Ross will know, I imagine. What year is the car and I'll have a look at the technical bulletins that I have.

Thanks, that would be much appreciated!

It's a March 2000 model.

I know its a trivial query, but the water is dripping onto the suspension mount which can rot badly on these. It's almost permanently wet in that area so would like to find out where the rogue water is coming from.

That's a bit of a sweeping generalisation!

Sorry bro, the only thing I have for that model/year combo is a water leak along the top-middle of the driver's door seal.

Under the plastic trim where the wiper assembly is there should be a drain hole either side of the bulkhead to drain the water down into the wing - it's probably clogged with leaf mould and gunge.

*** Note to add - Corsas aren't really my thing, so I'm not 100% sure on the location of the drain holes. There will be some though, and they are probably blocked ;)

^^^^^This. Be prepared to lose your wristwatch and find rust.

Ok well I'll have a look around and see what I find. Had the plastic trim under the windscreen off last year and thankfully couldnt see rust but I'll check the drain holes. Thanks for your help chaps :)

OK had a good look around, no rust (large) drain holes are clear but the top of the suspension mount is still damp. Plastic fuel lines run there but no smell of petrol, brake line that runs near is still fresh in its factory green paint.

I'm going to try and tape up the hole on the underside of the bonnet under the washer jet as its sort of above there, see what happens!

Anyway, enough of my trivial ramblings - sorry!
