R9UKE Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 Afternoon shiters, Thought if this car was going to find a buyer, it would be here! The story. It was on eBay just over a month ago and I had a cheeky bid of £210. I was outbid and it sold at £220. Here's the description and the few rubbish pictures for those of you who missed it. It is time for my beloved Peugeot 605 SRi to move on to its final home or resting place.I have owned it for over ten years and have looked after it fairly well including all servicing. It has a few dents and scrapes, but far less than one would expect of a car used to ferry a family around. Life has changed hugely over the last year and is not showing any signs of slowing and this car deserves better than to go straight to a scrapyard.Hence this sale. Any more info and pics will be added as later/as requested.MoT due 2nd June 2012.Taxed until 30-04-13 hence start price.ABS works but dodgy connector causes intermittent warning light.Exhaust manifold holed or cracked, not sure which yet, still drives okay. All windows, doors and sunroof work.Never had any welding done.Alloy wheel trims still look handsome.N/S door mirror missing - proper item no longer available About a week ago I received a second chance offer for my bid of £210. Things have changed now, it looks like I'm on the edge of buying another Laguna V6, and I just can't justify buying this anymore. I've been in contact with the seller, he's a really nice guy with a lot going on his life at the mo, so I said I'd assist in trying to find a buyer. I know it needs an MOT, but.... at £210 with TEN MONTHS TAX you really have nothing to lose, though the aim of this is obviously to find it a loving home and not some prick who'll pick it up, drive it round the corner to a scrap yard and cash in the tax. Any interested parties can PM me for sellers email/phone number. Car is in Hemel Hempstead.
skattrd Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 Manual if I found the right ebay ad ... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... ink:top:en
wuvvum Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 I was seriously tempted by this when I saw it on there - still got a fair bit of fleet reduction to do though before I can start buying again, alas. The manifold issue would worry me a bit, but the at that price there's plenty of leeway for spending a bit on it - you could cash the tax in, run the car over the bridge and make a profit ffs...
warren t claim Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 Not buying this are you?http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-moto ... /104376765
warren t claim Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 Or this?http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-moto ... /104530729
R9UKE Posted June 14, 2012 Author Posted June 14, 2012 Nothing gets past you! Yep... the 1998 RTi manual. All being well it'll be home on Saturday afternoon. Aye the big 605 is a manual, that's the right ad! MOT could be an issue but as wuvvum says - pay £20 for an MOT, gasp at the failure list, take the car over the bridge, cash in the tax and you've still made profit. PS - 177000 miles on a Laguna II??? Miracles can happen.
R9UKE Posted June 14, 2012 Author Posted June 14, 2012 I thought so too, but I'm a bitch for originality, so they'll probably end up being changed back. Thankfully it has leather as well, unheard of on an RTi... they usually have this nasty interior http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RARE-CLASSIC- ... 899wt_1185 Also very much looking forward to the list of faults the voice synthesizer will no doubt have lined up....
cort16 Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 That Laguna 1 looks ace. They never did a Manual v6 Laguna II did they?
R9UKE Posted June 15, 2012 Author Posted June 15, 2012 Nope, they're all autos but with tiptronic. Looking forward to a V6 manual, the only one I've had before was a '97 Audi A6
Rod/b Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Cor! If I still lived in Berkhamsted i'd have been all over this.
