Hi all

Been routing through my photos and have assembled a load of shite for your pleasure. This is a biggy, so I thank you for your patience.

Featuring some old 70s and 80s photos plus some from my travels. I can't identify all of them so any help appreciated. Sit back and enjoy the shite.

Wow, what a selection, a proper world tour!

Thailand-056-1.jpg

I have no idea what this is/was, Thailand

That IS looking a bit sorry for itself. Before its roof was cut off, it WAS a little Mazda pickup, based on the old Maz 1000. It has a separate chassis, so no wobbliness issues, and probably a 1.3 petrol, with drum brakes all round. Later ones had a longer cab, 1.4 lump and disks on the front. I think the number plate says 'ภูเà¸Â็ต' (Phuket), showing the province it's registered in. They're not uncommon in Thailand - clicky in my sig.

Thanks for sharing them all!

Wow, great shite medley there. Love the dodgy old Volgas!

I wonder how a Tyne and Wear corporation Alexander Atlantean came to be operating for the NBC in Kent? Unless its a Fleetline that they tried and didn't like?

'Zephyr' is a MK2 Consul

'Cambridge/Oxford' is a Wolseley 15/60 or 16/60

Thanks for sharing!

Cheers!

And I believe the Russian van shite is a UAZ

Posted

I think the Wolseley is a 15/60, as it has the larger rear fins.

Wow, you've been around! Love that Gloria.

What a fantastic set of pictures, thanks for taking the time to post all them up. :D

What the fuck has happened to that blue Argie Ford's door I wonder? Missile strike?

Nice piccies. The name of the pub was unusual, did a quick Google:

Although now called 'The Countryman' this pub was originally called the Ghunzee Fort. It takes its name from a great fortress in the Khyber Pass, captured in 1839 by blowing up the main Kabal Gate as mining and escalading were impossible. Many Royal Engineers from the nearby School of Military Engineering, were involved in the action and brought the name back with them.
