I got up Ramsbottom yesterday 1940's day

Popped into this lovely place to catch the tail end of a 1940's weekend, loads of people swanning around in uniforms and civvies of the era, Keep forgetting I have a camera on my phone so when I remembered most people were going home, Here is what I did manage to catch

 

Firstly an old looking garage that is still in use, the pumps have 74.9p x2 written on them hope you like pics

The owner of this said it had a 3 ltr Rolls Royce petrol engine in and was 1958 made, he had just bought a brand new still in box ditributer for it for £15 (beat that)

Reynolds-Boughton RB44; based loosely on the venerable Dodge 50, and intended to replace the Army's ageing 1-ton and 101 FC Land Rovers. Supposedly as horrible to drive as the base vehicle.

Love the pictures, looks like a fun day out. I like the airfield LR with its' loud black'n'yellow livery. And the Austin Champ (I'd like a crack at driving one, to see if it's as unlikely as it looks!)

A couple of years ago I had a go at the World Black Pudding Throwing Championships which are held there. I reckon they should get that on the agenda for this London 2012 mallarky.
