Its OK to fill an older system that took R12 with R134a, you just need an adaptor to fit the connector to the low pressure port

I thought you had to get some other (expensive) gas that was compatible rather than R134A..?

I had a Range Rover classic converted from R12 to R134a a few years ago. Aircon geezer told me that 134 will work fine in an R12 system but will need topping up every couple of years as it'll seep past the seals in an R12 system as 134 has smaller molecules or summat.

 

Have to change the ports to put 134 in, as someone said.

i've got aircon but pretty sure it made me ill. SO i just open windows now, managed that for 20 years why change now?
