Get some Spokey Dokeys, then show off your MAD SKILLZ by hopping up a 10cm kerb outside the local Costcutter

keep looking at old BMX's on the bay but fear the Wife would do her nut if I bought one as I already collect old skateboards....

Would love to see some pics though

Ooooh, memories! I had a Murray 360 (the chrome framed one, with the Bendix back-pedal brake), but a boy in my class had the lightweight 340. He traded that for a Haro (well his folks did, we were about 11/12 at the time), and pretty much pwn'ed everyone. He made a habit of buckling plastic mags: mine were made of pig iron, so not a problem.

I have some Murrays, pics coming up... I had a chrome framed one with black Lester mags and that was a 340.

This is a 360:

This is a US bike, it should have Lester mag wheels on it.

Nice bikes! Used to love BMXing.

Didn't have anything too exotic, mainly a chrome Burner with a load of trick bits that cost me most of my pocket money for months, and a Kuwahara with a very shoddy paint job...

Cheers RG, you're spot on. It's been a long time since I last saw mine (it was nicked  ), and your pics have really got me a bit nostalgic.

I'm going to ask this, and hide under the settee; but are these on the pricey end of retro BMX's now? They weren't cheap new, at the time (mine was a good s/h). I could just look on t'Bay and pretend like I had thought of it before now, but I've a feeling I'm going to be disappointed!

All my bikes came from the council dump when I was a kid until the day came when I'd saved enough pocket money for a bmx (took chuffing years to do). I bought what I could afford which was a Falcon Pro in mint green with whites mags :D I rode that badboy everyday enjoying the lightness/pimp looks/mushroom grips until after 3 weeks of ownership I snapped the toptube from the headstock jumping off a wall. Dad came to the rescue and stumped up for a new frame, looking back now I think this may have been a turning point where I learned to buy quality* 2nd hand tat rather than brand new shite.

One local kid had a skyway with the twin toptube, even more annoyingly he could frame stand all the way down our street. I can also recall being a tad jealous of my cousins PK Ripper, such a good name for a bike.

Still ride my Pashley BMX now and again, can still pull a 180 though that's about it.

Yeh, unfortunately old school bmx attracts more scene tax than a rusty Mk1 Golf and Team Murrays, although considered crap(which they were!) are very hard to find as not many of the early ones (as above) lasted very long. They changed the frame design slightly and those frames were stronger but even they do not come up for sale very often.

A Pashley is pretty rare too, nice ride wacky!

My parents bought me a red Barbican with yellow mag wheels, pads and handle-grips from Trev's Cycle Centre in Folkestone as my main Christmas present in 1983. The wheels alone made it a far superior bike to the Raleigh Burners that my friends had :)
