Lucky man Gary! I've always (and still do) wanted to live out in the sticks, I used to visit sticks areas just to get away from the smog and stress of the city.

 

I come from a town (Telford) and going back there life just seems to be at a slightly slower pace than our fast/must be ahead of time type cities.

 

On the point of noticing grumps, I guess as you said living out in the sticks and having a cushy job etc... Will make a difference on your view of life, some people are lucky enough to land/get into these positions, many of us arent and sometimes we need somewhereto vest our frustrations. Whilst some may not be interested in our grumps, many do take comfort in at least seeing that your not the only one having a bad day.

When i read the grumps it does make me realise just how lucky i am, i think if i had to work all the hours some put in i would be a pain to live with.

infact if you get stressed out theres nothing better to sort it out than sitting on a mower going up and down acres of lawn makeing lovely stripes on a sunny day

they where only observations that i have noticed they dont bother me much at all as im thick skined, but i do think toneing it down a bit would be beneficial for the forum and to save arguments that can occur, im not sure why members left but i bet it didnt help in them makeing there mind up to leave

The Grumpy Old Man thread makes me feel better about my life

 

I can't say I look at the spot threads much, some are really interesting but some are Mk3 Cavaliers, Golfs and Orions and to be honest I see them around here most days of the week.

 

Everyone I have met off here has been spot on, and long may it continue.

I like the fact that its a friendly and informal site - not clinically clean,and wipe your feet before entering ! It feels cosy,and like home surrounded by family

plus someone else is paying for it all (Messrs Sceptre and Leyland, I presume - thank you). Hosting a high traffic site like this isn't free, and a quantity of trouble went into setting it all up. There's no ads, no subscription and no sponsor members flogging stuff, and the site's better for it

I think most of you really havent read my post properly or have taken it the wrong way, these are not my veiws they are observations made from reading through what ive read

 

No no, I got that 'your' list was your observation of the prevailing attitude and not your own views - sorry if you thought I was having a pop at you, I wasn't . I know what you mean and sympathise; I tend to just ignore the all XXXXs are wankers/no they aren't threads like the recent tanker driver or horse rider rows.
