Ah, the little red Taunus 12M on Hamburg plates.  It's done the rounds on other forums and was published by Spiegel a few years back

Yes it's assumed to be the photographer's car, not least because the boot is slightly open on the canal shot in Delft

When doing asbestos surveys of buildings, one of my minions insisted on getting the company car into the corner of every picture of the buildings we visited, sadly it was a MK II Vectra.
