^^^ deleting the boot release on Ghia/XR2 was one of the 1986 'improvements' ! along with the glovebox illumination and one of the two luggage compartment lamps.

 

I know far too much about the detail spec of these cars

My uncle's C-reg Ghia had all of those features. I think it must have been a 1985 model

Love the true povo spec motoring feel in the popular, with blanking plates galore on the dash to remind you of what could have been!!

I had a 1985 B reg (B800 YPU) 1.3 (CVH) ghia in Paris blue with that fitted, blue velour seats were nice! It was a good car but got a bit rough in the end, the clutch went and it wasnt worth repairing that and all its (many) other faults so it got traded in. The best feature was a self draining system, water leaked in through the windscreen seal and straight out a rust hole in the floor!

I dont think it lasted much longer after it left me though. Wish I had room to keep it now.

Those Ghia wheeltrims are my favourite wheeltrims of all time, so bland they're gorgeous.
