"Collectors Car Parts" of Sipson, near Heathrow Airport..

Today's my last day at work before the Christmas break and I'm off now, until 3rd January. Before going to work I had removed the exhaust from my little Daf 33, as it had blown a hole & I'd been told of a place in Sipson, near Heathrow Airport, that could make me a new one. I arrived to find the place run by a TRUE Autoshiter... He's going to make up a new exhaust for me at a very reasonable price after the new year.

The even better news is that this guy has almost EVERYTHING you could possibly want for a 1960's car; lights, speedos, clutch kits, exhausts, gaskets, dashboards, light clusters, brake pads & shoes and so on... The business is run by a one man band and is NOT on the internet, but he exports all over the world! While I was there he dispatched a NOS grille for a 1960's Morris Oxford to Australia-pretty impressive! If ever an Autoshiter is looking for a part I would recommend a call to this place!

The details are as follows:

Collectors Car Parts,

43/45, Sipson Way,

Sipson,

WEST DRAYTON,

Middlesex.

UB7 0DW

Tel: 0208 897 3774

Put the postcode into Google Maps & check out the rover & Morris Minor outside the shop!

A blessed & peaceful Christmas to all Autoshiters!

I've used this company a few times in the past, he has just about anything for everything, and is a pleasure to deal with!

I visit CCP fairly regularly, but I always feel intimidated by the excessively tidy, clinical nature of the place.

I 've used him for nearly thirty years! Citroen DS... Austin 3 Litre.... :D Super Minx.... Mk 2 Cortina.... all had bits from Howard!

I bet he does not have the oil filter for a DAF I spent 2 months looking for.......it has a strainer.

I might have spoken to him as I tried LOADS of places. Some of them were saying that they can get any part but then came back with their tail between their legs. Turns out I may as well have been asking for tartan paint. Muppet.

I know what you mean, I sold him some Farina parts but asked for my crates back so he emptied them out on the punter's side of the counter and they were still there years later when I went in for some Land Rover parts.

And that even after my long boring lecture about the differences of a Daf!!

I have been Dafless for a year now and am getting the itch - there is a strong possibility I will be back in the market for one in the spring!

One of life's great eccentrics is Howard. Have you seen the Hose Room? It's absolutely stuffed with rubber hoses!

He's a big Lanchester fan.... there were a couple round the back last time I was there.

just a short update on the Daf exhaust. The guy rang me between Christmas & the new year, to say it was ready-beat that for service! Most places go to bed over the "festive fortnight" so I was well chuffed to find out that it was done & dusted. I collected it on 10th Jan & it only cost me £66.97, including everything! Bearing in mind that's for a hand-made exhaust that's not a bad price.

It's now fitted and works perfectly. I'm now getting back into Daf driving again! If any fellow Autoshiters need anything collected from this "Aladin's cave" of car bits & pieces I'm happy to help-I just LOVE going in there!

When I was after bits for the CF I went along. Even my missus was impressed. Apparently when I grow up and retire I can have a shop like that. ..
