  1. 1 owner from new too! £1.99 in Woolworths was probably a third of my paper round money in the mid late 80’s, I probably spent the rest on pick and mix 😂
  2. So having just had a clandestine Tat handover - well more accurately @bunglebus drove past my house on his way home 😂 Anyway in the ensuing sophisticated* tat chat, I cracked open some storage boxes and thought I’d post up some matchbox packing oddities incase they were news to anyone else! I bought all these new as a kid, played with them (!) then replaced them 10 years later in the 90’s at toyfairs, the Granda I bought new in Zodiac toys Basildon though because it matched my dads! All three are fantastic boxes - did Ford design them? Oh and an interloper too! Then these fantastic boxes featuring Sir Rog 😎 Then a quick fact - my old shift partner was apprenticed at Wood & Picket Park Royal where he went to early Duran Duran gigs - Simon Le Bons brother was also an employee… https://youtu.be/Fp4CR2HcHLQ?feature=shared
  3. Quick question whats the crane truck next to the Bedford ? This is Basildon town square and the famous* spherical stainless clock is being installed in 1965. Its still there but moved in 2007.
  4. Can’t believe inflation has hit the 50p box! Will happily home the chipperfields crate if it’s unwanted though 👍
  5. Was looking for something else when I found these…. Is the Leyland a truck or a coach?
  6. I think Hatton’s exit is very dignified, Winco did the same a few years back and retired gracefully after (35?) many years trading. Hatton’s going to war with Hornby obviously was the gamble that didn’t pay off. Hobbies rise and fall, it’s how we’re buying 60/70’s Corgis and Dinkys for basically buttons in 2024. Some clubs/society’s don’t help themselves or the hobby mind - there is a major exhibition in Kent with huge attendance and exhibition. Of course “cash only” no cards. The risk of a huge bag of cash on the premises, finding somewhere to bank this huge bag of cash - all versus a committee setting up an online bank account and buying a card reader for £30! I think this is the killer sometimes. It’s a good day out mind and worth a look in if your local. https://www.rmweb.co.uk/forums/topic/182493-longfield-model-railway-exhibition-27th-28th-january-2024/
  7. I’m in tears reading this 🤣🤣🤣 Tat-Friday to a tee!!!
  8. Adding to this does anyone collect them? My ceiling joists would appreciate mine finding a new home 😆
  9. I’ve got a pink heart one too! Had it since new 😁 Sone great hunting too @junkyarddog and @bunglebus not envious at all*
  10. That might just happen…. Slightly under size for my 1/14 Tamiya RC trucks but close enough to be a scale load. It’s wether you can get proportional (ie not all or nothing) drive to the wheels. I know it’s battered but weathered Gaffer/Withnail style it might just come out smiling 😉 Apprecite the measuring @Datsuncog now hide it back in the loft 😂
  11. How long is the Roller @Datsuncog intrigued what scale it is! Many thanks for picking it up 👍👍👍
  12. Thread drift, but I have 2 German cars with a beige/brown combo interior - one built in 2015, one in 2019! I will say I’m not likely to pick beige carpet in an estate again 😉
  13. You must really be emotional being reminded of it again!
  14. @Datsuncog Thats a fantastic review of the year, and its nice to see I scored on quite a few months! Interesting to see that on Fridays I missed where actual real life got in the way (!) there were quite a few “I wish I’d got in first” moments - jealous moi - of course not 😉 I would add for those of you who love a tat Friday, scan this calendar and pencil in some day outs for yourself, maybe pick somewhere close your other half wouldn’t mind visiting after too 😇 you will be allowed to spend more 😂 https://www.ukmodelshops.co.uk/eventSMT/y2024/m1
  15. Sone more from the toyfair - first up £10 Renault 16 with dogging seats - they won’t stay up only reclined! These Corgi’s really are lovely and this one has a lovely lustre to the paint too with sadly just one chip to the tailgate pillar but wearing its 50 years very well. Then I’m quite chuffed with my deal of the day - grubby Dinky 356 and a grubby Spot-on Bentley - the pair £15! Such was the lightning speed my hand went for my wallet my trousers almost caught alight 😉 Scrubbed up nice with a little soap and Autoglym. The proportions of this 356 are absolutely bang on, especially the wheel stance. I can see more of these in my future! This is quite toybox enjoyed, but its patina suits it perfectly. Next up to Spot-on Bentley which has considerable heft and accuracy. It also boasts a full interior and I’m quite chuffed with snaring this one! Again toybox enjoyed condition, but the glass is good so maybe it’s a candidate for a blow over one day?
  16. Oddly @bunglebus wasn’t the only one to be amused by the tray of bust yesteryears 😉 I did enjoy this this stand though, (I always do!) and I am ruing not buying the Caprice cab though st a reasonable £25 before a barter. However I did do some buying! First off sone recent @Datsuncog arrivals via @bunglebus freight forwarding - Cheers Tim their lovely!
  17. Sorry Eddy, but things have not got expensive, but just followed inflation!
  18. You should post the hourly rate and I will see if I can hear @eddyramrod explode on the horizon 🤣
  19. You will be a murder accomplice 🤣
  20. I have the set of 12 of these (and many multiples) if your missing any, I cant help but grab them when I see them!
  21. Another fabulous edition of tat Friday @Datsuncog 👍
  22. Now they look great, love it 👍
  23. The bonnet on the olds is a bugger to open - either that or I used to bite my fingernails as a kid!
  24. That’s exactly the sort of selection I’d buy - top bombing 👍
  25. Got to be gold or pale metallic green?
